Energy StarŪ is an independent U.S. Government program establishing a standard set of guidelines to recognize the energy efficiency of various products. In the home building and remodeling industry, Energy StarŪ guidelines are used in conjunction with a variety of building materials, including windows and patio doors. Energy StarŪ is a voluntary partnership between the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the fenestration industry. It is designed to assist consumers in the recognition of energy efficient products-and promote the environmental and economic benefits of these products through the Energy StarŪ label and other program activities. The performance criteria for windows and doors is different depending on what region of the country the window is being sold. The ENERGY STARŪ climate map below shows how the country is divided into three regions; Northern, Southern and Central. These three regions have different guidelines due to the different climates. Superior's all-welded vinyl window products meet the strict energy guidelines for the Central region. Superior is proud to be an ENERGY STARŪ partner. As an Energy StarŪ Partner, Superior Metal Products Company, Inc. manufacturers some of the finest constructed, energy-saving vinyl windows in the industry for both new construction and replacement.
